A young Vietnamese woman in Taiwan has won the grand prize of NT$12 million (about US$364,243) from the “NT$12 Million Big Fortune” lottery ticket in Changhua, Taiwan, the Taiwan Lottery Bureau confirmed on Saturday.
The girl, along with three fellow Vietnamese friends, went to the Xiangfu lottery store without any strategy or specific number selection. They bought four lottery tickets, and one of them won her a prize worth NT$12 million. She said she plans to send all of her winnings back to her family in Vietnam so they can celebrate the Lunar New Year. However, she will continue her work in Taiwan.

The “NT$12 Million Big Fortune” lottery has a total of six grand prizes worth NT$12 million and 175 prizes worth NT$1 million. As of Friday, two prizes worth NT$12 million and 13 prizes worth NT$1 million have been awarded, according to Taiwan Lottery figures.
The lottery shop said its “fortune pot” had been taken to Puyan Shunze Temple for a blessing ceremony ahead of the Lunar New Year. The shop owner, Mr. Chen (陳), said that although he had prepared for a lucky new year, he never expected such a big windfall and hoped the prosperity would continue.
