Taiwan’s receipt lottery is a program that encourages consumers to collect receipts when shopping, to increase transaction transparency and prevent tax loss. Every two months, Taiwan’s Ministry of Finance will hold a lottery to determine winning bills with many attractive prizes.
Time to announce results and redeem prizes
The lottery results for January and February are usually announced on March 25 every year. The redemption period starts from April 6 and ends on July 5 of the same year. Therefore, for the January-February 2025 draw, the results are expected to be announced on March 25, 2025, and the redemption period will be from April 6 to July 5, 2025.
How to check winning bills
To check if your receipt is a winner, you need to compare the number on the receipt with the announced winning numbers. If the last digits of the receipt match the winning numbers from right to left, you will receive the corresponding prize. For example, if the first prize is 96182420 and your receipt number is 06182420, you will win NT$40,000; but if your receipt number is 96182421, you will not win.
Prizes and how to receive them
The prizes in the Taiwanese bill lottery are very diverse, from NT$200 for matching the last 3 numbers of the first prize, to NT$10 million for the special prize for matching all 8 digits. To receive small prizes like NT$200 or NT$1,000, you can bring your winning receipt to convenience stores to exchange for goods of equal value. For larger prizes, you need to go to the post office to get the cash.
Important Note
Please carefully save all your shopping receipts between January and February 2025 to be able to participate in this lottery. After the results are announced on March 25, 2025, quickly check and redeem within the specified time from April 6 to July 5, 2025.
